Harry Kane header helped his team to a 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday at Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
Action: In a goalless and uneventful first-half, Spurs struggled, with the visitors controlling the ball and keeping Antonio Conte's men away from the game.
Wolves new signing Matheus Nunes nearly capitalised a sloppy defending from Spurs just before the break, only to be denied by some last-ditch defending.
In the second-half, Tottenham improved and Harry Kane nearly broke the deadlock at the start of the second period as he hit the crossbar with a close-range header.
Son Heung-Min came close to scoring after 63 minutes but his shot struck the outside of the post from a tight angle.
In the next minute, Son Heung-Min’s corner was flicked on by Ivan Perisic at the near post and was nodded home by Kane from close-range.
The hosts remained compact for the rest of the game and held the one-goal advantage and claimed a vital three points at home.
Big Picture: With this result, Spurs win their second game out of three league games this season. Antonio Conte's side remain unbeaten in their opening three Premier League fixtures while Wolves have failed to earn a win so far this season.
Next up, Tottenham will travel to face Nottingham Forest at the City Ground next Sunday, while Wolves will host Preston North End for the second round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday before they will host Newcastle next Sunday at the Molineux.
