Tottenham failed to find the breakthrough as they were held to a goalless draw with German side Eintracht Frankfurt.
Coming from a difficult 3-1 defeat to their north London rivals Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday, Tottenham went to Germany looking to get back to winning ways.
Despite the the game finishing without goals, both sides had enough chances to change the scoreline throughout the 90 minutes.
Spurs were on top in the opening stages, but it was Frankfurt who had the first real good chance as Sebastian Rode strike needed scrambling away by the Tottenham's defence.
Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Ivan Perisic went close to score for Antonio Conte's men before half time but failed to break the deadlock.
In the second half, Hugo Lloris made a superb save to deny Ansgar Knauff and Jesper Lindstrom skied his strike to keep Spurs in the game.
As the game went towards the end, the intensity dropped with both teams stood firm to hold onto a point apiece.
With this result Tottenham and Eintracht Frankfurt are both on four points from three matches, with Sporting Lisbon in top spot on six despite their 4-1 loss to bottom club Marseille, who have three points.
Next up, Tottenham head to Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday, while Frankfurt travel to VfL Bochum in the Bundesliga. Both sides will meet again next week in London.
