Matty Cash notched an unusual double, propelling Aston Villa to a triumphant 3-1 victory over Burnley in an impressive performance at Turf Moor.
In the initial 10 minutes, Villa went ahead as John McGinn's exceptional lofted pass sent Ollie Watkins charging towards the goal, who provided a delicate cross that Matty Cash emphatically struck into the net at the far post.
Just six minutes later, Cash extended Villa's lead after playing a brilliant one-two with Moussa Diaby near the edge of the box and powerfully dispatched the ball past James Trafford.
The hosts struggled to create and failed to register a shot on target during the first 45 minutes, as Villa exhibited complete dominance on the field.
However, the dynamics shifted within two minutes of the second half, when Lyle Foster pulled one back for the hosts scoring Burnley's first goal of the season.
Vincent Kompany's side immediately launched an offensive to try and level the game, but as the Clarets seemed poised to equalise, Villa caught them off guard.
Lucas Digne's exceptional cut-back found Moussa Diaby on the edge of the box, who executed a splendid finish past Trafford.
Villa regained command and had a couple of opportunities to make it 4-1, but Trafford made good saves to deny Watkins and Nicolo Zaniolo's attempts.
Unai Emery held firm for the rest of the game and secured a well-deserved victory to move them into sixth position in the Premier League table, while Burnley are in the relegation zone after losing their opening two games.
