Chelsea had to settle for a frenetic 0-0 draw against a determined Bournemouth team at the Vitality Stadium.
The game kicked off with Chelsea nearly scoring within the first two minutes after Nicolas Jackson cleverly back-heeled the ball to Mykhailo Mudryk, who sprinted past Lloyd Kelly and sent a cross to Conor Gallagher, but his shot was blocked.
Another opportunity for the visitors came when Jackson had a go at goal after a good combination with Mudryk but struck the post with a bouncing shot from 20 yards out.
Bournemouth's first chance occurred when they caught Chelsea off guard with a quick free-kick, with Ryan Christie delivering a cross to Dango Ouattara, whose shot was smothered by Robert Sanchez.
The Blues thought they had scored early in the second half when Raheem Sterling's free-kick hit the corner of the post and crossbar before bouncing back across the line to Levi Colwill, but he was ruled offside, and the goal was disallowed.
Colwill had another chance midway the second half when he attempted to scramble Jackson's low cross into the net after a corner, but Neto eventually cleared the ball to safety.
On the other end, Philip Billing's low free-kick was deflected just wide off Gallagher's ankles.
Moments later, Dominc Solanke forced a save from Sanchez with a shot from inside the box after cutting past Gallagher.
Substitute Ben Chilwell aimed to provide a match-winning assist with a dangerous cross that struck Jackson's head, but Neto managed to reach over the line and prevent a goal.
In the closing stages, Neto came to Bournemouth's rescue again when he made a strong save with his hand to deny Cole Palmer's volley from close range.
Mauricio Pochettino's men will be seeking their second Premier League victory of the season when they face Aston Villa next Sunday.
Meanwhile, Bournemouth will also be in action on the same afternoon, playing against Brighton & Hove Albion.
