Arsenal missed the opportunity to finish the year on top of the Premier League, as Bobby De Cordova-Reid's goal secured a 2-1 comeback win for Fulham at Craven Cottage.
The visitors got off to a strong start, with Bukayo Saka scoring on the fifth minute after tapping in following Bernd Leno's save from Gabriel Martinelli's shot.
However, Fulham responded well and dominated the rest of the first half and Raul Jimenez levelled after guiding Tom Cairney's cross into the net, marking his fourth goal in four matches.
Mikel Arteta's men struggled in the second half, and the visitors went in front just before the hour mark when De Cordova-Reid scored from close range following a defensive error from the Gunners during a corner.
Marco Silva's side looked more likely to score in the closing moments, with substitute Andreas Pereira hitting the crossbar. Arsenal, lacking offensive prowess, suffered their fourth league defeat of the season.
The result will leave Arsenal in fourth place, trailing leaders Liverpool by two points as the Merseysiders have the chance to extend their lead when they face Newcastle United at home on New Year's Day.
Fulham, on the other hand, climbed to 13th place after breaking a three-match losing streak in the league.
