Kobbie Mainoo secured a dramatic victory for Manchester United with a 97th-minute goal, as they edged past Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-3 at Molineux.
Marcus Rashford, returning to the starting line-up amid recent controversies, quickly put United in the lead. Within the first five minutes, he skillfully converted a lay-off from Rasmus Hojlund into a goal, placing the ball into the far corner from the edge of the area.
With 22 minutes played, United delivered a double blow to Wolves just as they were gaining momentum. Rashford connected with Luke Shaw's cross, resulting in a fortuitous deflection off Hojlund that beat Jose Sa at the near post.
Casemiro missed a clear chance shortly after, heading wide from a well-executed free-kick. Hojlund capitalized on a short back pass from Matt Doherty, but Sa's clearance narrowly missed the Dane, flashing just wide.
Despite repeated attempts on the Wolves goal, including offside rulings on goals from Hojlund and Casemiro, United couldn't extend their lead before half-time.
The second half saw continued action, with Bruno Fernandes and Lisandro Martinez involved in goal-scoring opportunities at either end. Hojlund, seeking his second goal, was denied by a remarkable stop from Sa.
Wolves found a fortunate lifeline when Casemiro was penalised for a slight touch on Pedro Neto's ankle in the box.
Substitute Pablo Sarabia calmly converted the penalty to reduce United's lead in the 71st minute.
However, just four minutes later, substitute Scott McTominay swiftly restored Red Devils' advantage, scoring with his first touch off a corner after coming off the bench.
As things were, Man Utd were cruising to a confortable win, but Max Kilman's close-range finish brought Wolves back into contention five minutes from time.
In the fifth minute of added time Pedro Neto's superb strike seemed to secure a point for the hosts.
Yet, the visitors displayed resilience, and it was teenager Kobbie Mainoo who emerged as the hero.
Mainoo elegantly navigated into the penalty area before releasing a curling strike, securing a dramatic last-minute victory for the Red Devils.
With this win, United sit seventh in the table, one point away from the top six, while Wolves will stay 11th.
