Hosts Ivory Coast sent reigning champions Senegal spinning out of the Africa Cup of Nations on Monday, winning 5-4 on penalties after their last-16 tie ended all square at 1-1 following extra time.
Habib Diallo scored an early opener for Senegal but Franck Kessie scored a late penalty to draw the Ivory Coast level - and then the same player converted the decisive spot-kick in the shoot-out to clinch a quarter-final against Mali or Burkina Faso.
