Chelsea have announced that defender Alfie Gilchrist has signed a new contract until 2026.
The 20-year-old defender came through the club's illustrious academy before making his debut in December as a late substitute for Benoit Badiashile in Chelsea's 2-0 win over Crystal Palace.
Since then, Gilchrist has featured 12 times in total for the senior team including making starts for the Blues in the FA Cup.
"Signing this contract at Chelsea is a massive achievement for me and my family," said Gilchrist on the official Chelsea website.
"It was a no-brainer and every time I’ve signed a contract here it has felt nicer and nicer. But now I want to keep on pushing on and keep improving."
Gilchrist and Chelsea next face the visit of Manchester United on Thursday in the Premier League.
One of our own. 💙
