Charlton Athletic have chosen Michael Appleton to be their new head coach.
The 47-year-old is taking over this position after Dean Holden was sacked on August 27th following Charlton's poor performance in the early part of the season, where they lost four out of their first five league games.
Before Michael Appleton's appointment, Jason Pearce was temporarily in charge of the team and the Addicks managed to secure a 2-1 victory against Fleetwood but suffered a defeat against Crawley Town in the EFL Trophy.
Appleton has signed a two-year contract and will lead Charlton, who currently sit in 16th place in League One after earning six points from their first six games of the season.
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Michael Appleton as our new Head Coach 🤝
