Middlesbrough and Coventry City played out a goalless draw at the Coventry Building Society Arena in the first leg of the Play-Off semi-final, leaving the tie evenly poised going into the second leg.
The game started with Boro dominating possession, with Coventry looking to use their pace on the counter.
Boro created the first significant chance, with Chuba Akpom's shot being tipped onto the crossbar by Coventry goalkeeper Ben Wilson after good work from Isaiah Jones and Riley McGree.
The hosts responded with Liam Kelly heading wide from a corner and Paddy McNair blocking a long-distance drive from the Sky Blues' captain.
Jones continued to cause problems for the Coventry defense, and he even managed to score but his goal was disallowed for offside.
Michael Carrick's men had another chance early in the second half when Akpom headed just wide.
The game became cagey in the final minutes, and both sides failed to take th elead in the tie as the match ended in a goalless draw, leaving both teams with everything to play for in the second leg.
