Atletico Madrid's manager Diego Simeone has extended his contract for an additional three years until June 2027, as announced by the Spanish club on Thursday.
The 53-year-old's previous three-year deal, signed in July 2021 following their unexpected La Liga title victory, was originally set to end at the end of this season.
Simeone, who took charge of the team 12 years ago in December 2011, has achieved significant success, including two Liga titles in 2014 and 2021, the Copa del Rey in 2013, two Europa League trophies in 2012 and 2018, as well as two European Super Cups and one Spanish Super Cup.
Additionally, under his leadership, Atletico Madrid reached the Champions League finals in 2014 and 2016.
