Arsenal booked their spot in the Conti Cup final after defeating holders Manchester City by a single extra-time goal.
The Gunners were the better side throughout the game as well as extra time but were unlucky not to have prevented the game from going longer with a big late chance. Sandy MacIver’s fumble looked to have set Stina Blackstenius up for a dramatic late winner but Alex Greenwood did well to clear off the line.
Blackstenius did eventually make the difference though. Arsenal won the ball back just three minutes into extra time through Frida Maanum. Lina Hurtig then set up her compatriot to send the ball into the net.
City tried their best to get back into the game but couldn’t find a way through meaning that Arsenal will face the winners of tomorrow’s game between West Ham United and Chelsea with the final being held at Selhurst Park in early March.
