Flint makes Stoke City switch

Defender Aden Flint has completed his move to Stoke from Cardiff on a one-year contract.

The 32-year-old made 93 appearances, scoring 12 goals (six of them last season), for the Bluebirds since he joined the Welsh club from Middlesbrough in 2019.

He will bolster the Potters' defensive options in the Championship next season, particularly given the departure of the outgoing James Chester. 

Speaking to Stoke's website, Flint said: “I’m delighted to get it over the line. It’s been in the pipeline for a few weeks now.

“I obviously spoke to the gaffer (Steve Morison, Cardiff) while I was on holiday and I’m just delighted to be able to get it done.”

The Potters' assistant manager Dean Holden added: “We are delighted to get him through the doors.

“He’s a player who has been mentioned over the last couple of transfer windows, so to get it over the line and sorted in time for pre-season, we are really pleased.”
