Nottingham Forest will do battle with Huddersfield Town at Wembley for a place in the Premier League after a dramatic penalty shoot-out win over Sheffield United in the Championship play-offs last night.
Steve Cooper's side prevailed on penalties (3-2) after a dramatic 2-1 loss against the Blades left their semi-final second leg level at 3-3 on aggregate, and Forest will now take on the Terriers at Wembley with a top flight spot up for grabs.
After a 2-1 win at Bramall Lane, Forest thought they were in total control of the tie at City Ground, especially when Brennan Johnson gave them the lead in the first-half.
However, the Blades didn't give up and turned the tie around in the second-half, goals from Morgan Gibbs-White and John Fleck taking the game to extra-time and penalties.
In the penalty shootout, Brice Samba wore the hero cape and saved three penalties to help his team win 3-2 on penalties and send them to Wembley.
Forest will now head to the Championship play-off final to face Huddersfield at Wembley on Sunday, May 29, as they try to end a 23-year wait for top-flight football.
