According to reports, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United have all set their sights on signing Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister this summer.
The 24-year-old, who was an integral part of the Argentina side that lifted the World Cup in Qatar last year, is believed to favour a summer transfer and is tipped to move early in the window if negotiations proceed smoothly.
The Guardian report that Brighton are currently deciding the asking price for the playmaker - with Liverpool leading the chase for Mac Allister's signature having this week withdrawn their interest in Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham.
The Reds apparently also hold a torch for Mac Allister's team-mate Moises Caicedo, who signed a new deal until 2027 with the Seagulls after trying to engineer a move to Arsenal in the January transfer window.
Mac Allister's current deal at the Amex Stadium expires in June 2025, although Brighton have the option to extend it by an additional year.
Manchester United and Chelsea are also trailing the Argentine, although the former are focused on finding solutions at centre-forward and the latter are thought to have a raft of other midfield targets including Manu Koné of Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Mac Allister’s father, Carlos, has fuelled the fire regarding his son's likely exit by telling Puroboca.com: “Normally the next [transfer window] will find him playing in another club, we don’t know which one. The talks are just beginning in general, but it is most likely that Alexis will already be playing in another team next July.”
