Man City brush aside Fulham to move back top

Manchester City are two games away from an unprecedented fourth consecutive Premier League after thrashing Fulham 4-0 at Craven Cottage.

Despite a promising start from the hosts, the reigning champions found the breakthrough in the 13th minute from their first attacking move.

A delightful sequence of passing led to Kevin De Bruyne finding Josko Gvardiol, who elegantly controlled the ball before calmly slotting it past Bernd Leno.

As the game progressed, the visitors continued to create opportunities, with Manuel Akanji squandering the best chance of the first half by firing over from close range after a corner.

The second half mirrored the first, and the Citizens managed to double their lead in the 60th minute.

Bernardo Silva with a brilliant first touch beat Antonee Robinson on the right wing and drove into the penalty box only to be tackled at the edge of the box, but the loose ball fell kindly to Phil Foden, who expertly placed a low shot into Leno's far corner.

With 20 minutes remaining, Man City sealed the win as Silva delivered a pinpoint cross into the box, which Gvardiol redirected past Leno to make it 3-0 for the visitors.

In stoppage time, Issa Diop fouled Alvarez inside the penalty area, earning his second yellow card of the match.

Alvarez calmly converted the resulting penalty, putting the finishing touch to a dominant City performance.

With this win, Pep Guardiola's men climbed two points above rivals Arsenal with just two games to play. Fulham, meanwhile, remain 13th.

Wow, what a dominant performance from Manchester City! 4-0 against Fulham and they're now just two games away from winning their fourth consecutive Premier League title. The passing and control displayed by De Bruyne and Gvardiol was top notch. And that goal from Foden was pure class. Looks like another trophy is coming home to the Etihad Stadium.
