Minnows shock Africa Cup of Nations

Madagascar produced the shock of the Africa Cup of Nations so far as they beat three-time winners Nigeria 2-0.

Making their Afcon debut, the islanders made it two wins and a draw from their three group games to march into the last 16 as the winners of Group B. 

Goals from Lalaina Nomenjanahary and Carolus Andriamatsinoro sunk the Super Eagles, who still qualified for the latter stages after winning their previous two games. 

Madagascar are ranked a lowly 108 in the world, but still had enough to sink Nigeria despite being 63 places below them in the world rankings.

In today's clash of the day, Morocco take on South Africa in Group D, the Bafana Bafana knowing that a win will put them level on points at the top of the group. 

Madagascar took three points against Nigeria in the final group stage game of Group B, as they booked their first ever last 16 ticket.
