Chelsea have finalised the transfer of Raheem Sterling from Manchester City on a five-year deal in a transfer worth a reported £50m.
The 27-year-old already said his goodbye to City fans earlier today and now the Blues have announced the winger’s arrival.
“First and foremost, it’s a pleasure to be here,” said Sterling about his return to London – the city where he grew up.
“I’ve obviously achieved a lot in my career so far, but there is still so much more to achieve and I’m really looking forward to doing that in a Chelsea shirt, under Thomas’s management.
“London is my home and where it all started for me, and it’s amazing I now have the opportunity to play in front of friends and family week in, week out at Stamford Bridge. I’m really looking forward to meeting the fans there soon.”
Liverpool signed Raheem Sterling from Queens Park Rangers back in 2010 where the player went on to make 129 appearances before swapping Merseyside for Greater Manchester in 2015. At City, Sterling played 339 times, scoring an impressive 131 goals.
