Ronan Curtis scored a spectacular last-minute goal, securing a 1-0 triumph for AFC Wimbledon over their bitter rivals MK Dons at Plough Lane.
In an always tense fixture, the first half failed to live up to expectations. Both teams struggled to establish a rhythm, resulting in an uneventful affair with limited scoring opportunities.
Omar Bugiel's attempt in the opening half sailed over the stand, while James Tilley's 33rd-minute strike was the closest to breaking the deadlock, requiring a save from goalkeeper Michael Kelly.
On the other side, MK Dons struggled to challenge Alex Bass until the final moments of the half when Alex Gilbey took a shot. Despite some promising moves, the visitors couldn't find the breakthrough.
The second half mirrored the disjointed nature of the first, marked by frequent yellow cards issued by the referee.
Aside from a few half-chances, neither team took control of the game. Dan Kemp tested the goalkeeper, and Bugiel's header at the opposite end hit the roof of the net.
In the last 15 minutes, both teams adopted a more audacious approach. Substitute Ellis Harrison forced a good save from Bass, and Stephen Wearne missed a crucial opportunity for the visitors from a tight angle.
The deadlock was finally broken in stoppage time. After Armani Little's header hit the bar moments earlier, a cross to the far post found substitute Ronan Curtis, who fired in the winning goal in the fourth minute of added time.
