Tottenham are close to securing one of Spanish football’s most exciting young talents, Sevilla’s Bryan Gil, in exchange for Argentine winger Erik Lamela.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reports the swap deal is close to being finalised, with Spurs sending €25 million the other way to help complete the signing.
A Sevilla academy graduate, 20-year-old Gil spent last season on loan at fellow LaLiga side Eibar, making his name as one of the division’s top young performers, earning an impressive graduation to Luis Enrique’s Spain first team.
Should the deal be completed, Gil will swap places with fellow winger Lamela, who has managed 37 goals in 255 games since signing for Tottenham from Roma in 2013.
