Newcastle United will be without defender Sven Botman until next season after the defender picked up an ACL injury.
The Dutch international sustained the injury during the Magpies' 2-0 FA Cup quarter-final defeat to Manchester City at the weekend.
Botman has been a key part of Eddie Howe's side since arriving from Lille in 2022 with the player having already missed the start of the current season due to injury.
Now Botman is out until next season with the player to undergo surgery on his ACL injury next week. The club estimates a return within six to nine months depending on recovery time.
Fans may need to wait until at least October with the worst-case scenario that Botman will not play football again until 2025.
