Legend Diego Maradona is back in the dugout after being unveiled as the new manager of Argentinian side Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata.
His new role constitutes his first in his homeland since 2010 - and he has his work cut out with Gimnasia bottom of the Argentinian top flight.
The captain of Argentina's 1986 World Cup-winning team will take the reins until the end of the season in what is his sixth club management role. He was also in charge of the Argentina side that reached the quarter.finals of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
"Star of world football Diego Maradona has signed his name and is the new coach of Gimnasia," a club statement read.
Maradona's last coaching position ended in June when he left Mexican side Dorados de Sinaloa after failing to lead them to promotion from the second tier.
"Finally it's now official," wrote Maradona on Instagram. "I am very happy to be the new coach of Gimnasia.
"I want to thank the president Gabriel Pellegrino for this opportunity and say to all the fans that we are going to work with our hearts and souls for El Lobo."
