FC Utrecht have completed the signing of England youth international Adrian Blake.
The 17-year-old had turned down Watford’s offer of a professional contract this year instead choosing to move to Europe to continue his development. He will officially begin his life as a Utrecht player on July 15th when he turns 18.
“We are impressed with Adrian's talent and potential,” said FC Utrecht Technical Director Jordy Zuidam about the move.
“He plays with flair and is a footballer who can grow into the type of player supporters come to Stadion Galgenwaard for.
“We do have to realise that Adrian is still young and give him time and space to develop in the A-selection. It has been a long and intensive process to be able to attract Adrian. For a long time, he seemed unfeasible for us, but we were there early and have kept in close contact. We are very happy that we can now welcome him to Utrecht and that he will sign with us for four years.”
Blake made his senior debut for the Hornets back in August in the EFL Cup before featuring in the FA Cup in January and in the Championship on the final day of the season.
