In the 13th minute, Eoin Doyle opened the scoring for Bolton Wanderers, with a right-foot strike inside the penalty area, after a pass from Nathan Delfouneso. Shortly before the interval, Elijah Adebayo struck for Walsall, through a header, assisted by Cameron Norman.
Rory Holden netted the last goal in the 57th minute.
