Barnsley celebrate narrow win over Middlesbrough

Barnsley triumphed over Middlesbrough, 3x2, on Saturday, in a game relating to matchweek 35. In this competition, both teams came from a win. Amine Bassi with a superb display.

The opening goal was scored by Mads Andersen after 7 minutes, through a header inside the penalty area. With 16 minutes on the clock, Barnsley extended their lead with a goal from Amine Bassi with a left-foot strike inside the penalty box.

With 54 minutes on the clock, midfielder doubled the lead for Poya Asbaghi's team, with a right-foot shot from outside the box. With 61 minutes on the clock, Andraz Sporar fired home for Middlesbrough, from the penalty spot. In a very unlucky moment, Liam Kitching scored an own-goal in the closing stages of the game, from a corner.

After the result Middlesbrough are 9th in the table, with 52 points, while Barnsley sit 22nd place, with 24 points. In their next fixture, Barnsley's team visit Derby County, whilst Middlesbrough's team will play at home against Luton Town.
