Newport County triumphed over Portsmouth in a close win on Tuesday, 3x2, in a match relating of the League Cup. Ronan Curtis was the man of the match.
The first goal was scored by Ronan Curtis after 9 minutes. In the 14th minute, Will Evans fired home for Newport County, assisted by Chanka Zimba. Portsmouth scored their second goal of the game through Ronan Curtis, after 25 minutes.
With 49 minutes on the clock, Aaron Wildig scored the second goal for James Rowberry's team, laid on by Adam Lewis. Sub James Waite, after 71 minutes, changed the course of the game. In the 74th minute, midfielder netted the final goal of the game, assisted by Will Evans.
Thanks to this result, Newport County are through to the next round of the competition.
