Ajax overcame Heerenveen in a fantastic win on Sunday, 2x4, in a game relating to matchweek 25. Coming into the contest, Kees van Wonderen's team came from a draw, and John Heitinga's team came from three wins.
The opening goal was scored by Mohammed Kudus with 10 minutes on the clock. After 16 minutes, Edson Álvarez doubled the lead for Ajax. In the 19th minute, John Heitinga's team increased their lead with a goal from Steven Bergwijn. Shortly before the interval, Pelle van Amersfoort fired home for Heerenveen.
In the 52nd minute, Ajax extended their lead with a goal from Kenneth Taylor. After 79 minutes, Sydney van Hooijdonk netted the final goal of the game.
After the result Ajax are 2nd in the table, with 55 points, while Heerenveen sit 10th place, with 31 points. In their next fixture, John Heitinga's team will play at home against Feyenoord, whilst Kees van Wonderen's team visit FC Groningen.
