Italy triumphed over Venezuela in a close win on Thursday, 2-1, in a match relating of the National Team Friendlies . Both the italianos and Venezuela's national team held their first game in the competition. Mateo Retegui made a tremendous game.
Early in the game, Salomón Rondón had a golden chance to score but missed the penalty. The opening goal was scored by Mateo Retegui in the 40th minute. Shortly before the interval, Darwin Machís fired home for Venezuela.
Mateo Retegui netted the last goal after 80 minutes.
In the next fixture, Italy visit Ecuador, while Venezuela visit Guatemala.
