Chelsea are sizing up a potential move for Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams this summer.
It appears very likely that the Blues will also look to bring in a traditional number nine in the mould of Napoli's Victor Osimhen or Sporting's Viktor Gyökeres, but an article in the Guardian suggests Williams has been identified as a possible target.
Capable of playing off either flank, Williams primarily operates on the left wing and Athletic are reportedly preparing for the possibility of his departure - their recent signing of Alvaro Djalo from Braga offering some cover.
Williams has six goals and 10 assists across all competitions for Athletic this season, netting in his side's 3-0 win over Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey last week.
Were he to complete a move to Stamford Bridge, Williams would potentially compete with the likes of Raheem Sterling and Mykhailo Mudryk - neither of whom has nailed down their place in boss Mauricio Pochettino's starting XI.
