Harry Kane’s brace gave Tottenham Hotspur a pre-season win over Rangers at Ibrox in a game for the Walter Tull Trophy.
It was Rangers who opened the scoring with 25 minutes gone in the game thanks to two new signings. Welsh winger Rabbi Matondo did well to put in a low cross that Antonio Čolak finished from close range.
There was an amusing moment just before half-time when Harry Kane tried a freekick that he fired into the face of teammate Davinson Sánchez.
However, Kane got it right with his two goals in the second half. The first came in the 50th minute with a classy, nonchalant finish into the top right corner.
Six minutes later Son Heung-min found Kane, who controlled the ball well and fired an effort past Allan McGregor.
Antonio Conte’s team have just one more pre-season game before the start of the Premier League season when they face a familiar face in José Mourinho’s Roma team next Saturday.
Meanwhile, this was Rangers’ final friendly before the start of the Scottish Premiership season next weekend with Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s team travelling away to Livingston.
