According to self-proclaimed football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Olympique Lyonnais have agreed a deal with Real Betis to sign defender Abner.
The 23-year-old full-back is expected to make the move from the south of Spain to France in the summer with a fee yet to be disclosed between the two clubs.
Abner joined Real Betis in the January transfer window of 2023 as a replacement for Alex Moreno, who made a relatively big money move to the Premier League to join Aston Villa.
Abner began his youth career with Gremio and Mogi Mirim before becoming a professional with Ponte Preta in 2019. He then almost immediately joined Athletico Paranaense and he played 134 games for the club across four seasons, winning the Campeonato Paranaense and the Copa Sudamericana in his time with the club.
Since joining Betis, he has only made 13 first-team appearances for Manuel Pellegrini’s Andalusians with his time blighted by injuries.
nternationally, he has represented Brazil at U23 level and was a part of the squad that won the gold medal at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2021.
