As had appeared to be the case a few weeks ago but has now been ‘exclusively’ confirmed by self-proclaimed football transfer ‘expert’, Fabrizio Romano, Brazilian winger Savio will join Manchester City at the end of the season.
The 19-year-old Sao Mateus-born winger will reportedly link up with City’s first-team squad ahead of their pre-season tour of the United States in the summer.
It is believed that Manchester City will pay a fee of around £20 million for the attacker from fellow City Football Group side, Troyes, after his loan spell with City Football Group side Girona concludes at the end of this season.
Savio has been instrumental for Girona so far this season as they launch a title challenge in La Liga, albeit it does appear that title challenge is now over with Real Madrid six points clear at the top-of-the-table.
In La Liga so far this season, Savio has managed five goals with seven assists in 25 appearances, catching the eye for Michel’s front foot and attacking Catalans.
He began his career with Atletico Mineiro in 2020 and made 35 appearances for ‘Galo’ before his move to Europe with Troyes in 2022. However, he has yet to play for the French club with a fairly unsuccessful loan spell at PSV before joining Girona on loan last summer.
He will become Manchester City’s first signing of the 2024/25 season with another winger, Claudio Echeverri, arriving from River Plate in January 2025, too.
