Former Liverpool and England forward Daniel Sturridge has signed for Australian club Perth Glory to end his 18-month absence from the game.
The 32-year-old had been a free agent since leaving Turkish side Trabzonspor back in March 2020.
"It's a fantastic opportunity to try a new challenge," said Sturridge after completing the move.
"When the opportunity came about, it felt like the right thing to do, to take my talent somewhere where I can enjoy my football in a competitive league and try and help the team be as successful as they possibly can be.
"I'm going to put my best foot forward, work hard and try and help the team win each game that comes by and then we'll see where we end up when the season finishes."
After spells at Manchester City and Chelsea, Sturridge scored 67 goals in 160 games for Liverpool between 2013 and 2019, with a loan spell at West Brom sandwiched in towards the end of his time at Anfield.
He moved to Trabzonspor in the summer of 2019 as a free agent, but his three-year contract with the Turkish side was cancelled when he was slapped with a four-month worldwide ban for breaking betting rules.
