The 2021/22 WSL season concludes this Sunday with Chelsea in the driving seat to secure their third title in a row.
But it’s unlikely to be straightforward. The Blues must win at home to Manchester United to get their hands on the trophy, with the Red Devils still hoping to take the final Champions League place.
Chelsea did struggle last weekend, only recording a 1-0 win away to bottom-of-the league Birmingham City through a 71st-minute Pernille Harder penalty. They'll need a better performance against United.
Manchester United’s faint Champions League hopes depend on Reading, who face third-placed Manchester City in their final game of the season. City will be heavy favourites though, after a poor start to the campaign they’ve won 20 of their last 22 games in all competitions (with only Arsenal and Chelsea taking points off them).
There’s little at stake in the remaining games but for Birmingham City there is pride at least. The Blues received a 6-0 hammering from Manchester City on Wednesday night that confirmed their relegation with one game remaining.
However, they face local rivals Aston Villa on Sunday and will be aiming to secure just their third league win of the season.
